Project 1- Web advert

Aim of this advert:

My web banner will be about smoking. The message will hopefully persuade my target audience to quit smoking. This advert will be different from current ‘quit smoking’ banners because I will be using children as an emotional tool. This advert is about how the health implications caused by smoking can affect your life, and therefore affect the life that you have with your children. I want it to be emotive, yet send out a direct explicit message, so it’s important that I create a balance between the two.

The target audience will be primarily smokers. It is specifically aimed at parents/legal guardians who smoke. This advertisement banner could be displayed on health websites, however, smokers are not going to be on the sites, unless they are planning to quit. therefore, this advert needs to be aimed at more general websites, like on the Yahoo homepage, or AOL.

I want this web advert to be simple, as simplicity is often key to making an effective product. I want to use a simple colour theme of just black, white and hues of grey. In addition, I will use selected images to aid the text, but this will be minimal. I want this advert to be on  continuous loop where it would be featured.

I will get the SmokeFree logo from the web, and I will take my own photos of people smoking. In addition, I will use my own childhood photographs to use in the advert. I will edit and manipulate any images using Adobe Photoshop and the main content will be produced using Adobe After Effects.
